How many tourists came to Antalya in the first 6 months of 2025?

Evaluating Antalya ’s visitor data for the first half of the year , Mediterranean Tourist Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) President Kaan Kaşif Kavaloğlu stated that most tourists came from Russia , Germany , England and Poland . Kavaloğlu said, “The first destination preferred by Russians by far is Turkey and Antalya .”

Our goal is to reach last year's figure

Drawing attention to the importance of stability in the sector despite the difficulties, Kavaloğlu stated that their year-end goal is to reach or exceed last year's 17 million visitor figure. Emphasizing that July and August are critical for the sector, Kavaloğlu said that half of the annual profitability is achieved in these two months.

10-15 percent of visitors do not stay in hotels

On the other hand, Kavaloğlu noted that approximately 10-15% of incoming tourists stay in alternative accommodation options rather than hotels, and that this has a negative impact on occupancy rates in some regions.

Kavaloğlu, who stated that June was a successful month, said that the fact that the Eid al-Adha and the Pfingsten holiday in Germany coincided with this success was effective. He also stated that the European Football Championship being held in Germany caused a temporary decrease in the number of German tourists .

Despite geopolitical risks, the sector is resilient

Stating that the sector is resilient despite geopolitical risks, Kavaloğlu said, “If rival countries experience just one of the difficulties we have, it would take them two years to recover. In our country, there is strong solidarity between the public, private sector and local governments.” Kavaloğlu also drew attention to the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war and tensions in the Middle East on tourism, adding that they expect the season to extend until the end of November.
