Black lies in the tourism sector

It is past time to put an end to the claims that we are jumping, jumping, and being the first or the last in the world in tourism that has been carried out with white lies until today, but there is still optimism. Why? Because Turkish people do not want to face the truth, they are more eager to steer the colorful wave that they imagine or perceive. The most definitive known remedy for this should be to face the current situation and even to put the mistakes forward impartially and seek solutions. In addition, honest and inaccurate figures do not have any effect other than distorting the situation.
The concrete facility mentality for tourism is still valid and considered valid. A very simple definition of inflation is forgotten here. Is it a lot of beds or a planned production of quality and customer-oriented high earnings? The basic mistake in the discussion is the assumption that every hotel-style facility will be a money-making business, which has been proven to be the opposite many times. How is the inflationary market formed? The segment called “investors” in our country, who have pockets full of money but do not understand business at all, stays in any hotel, sees that things are good, multiplies the number of rooms per day by the amount they pay, and the lamp in their head lights up. A similar thing happens in the restaurant, multiplies the number of covers by the amount they pay, and makes an investment decision immediately in the light of the bulb. If this picture is evaluated within the scope of construction and equipment sales at the first stage, it seems to have brought movement to the economy as a return of money in the market, but the problems that arise after a few months of the business decrease the supply in the market, but the demand is not enough. As a result, the numbers start to go down and the facility starts to go bankrupt in order to save that day.
This reality has been repeating itself every year in the tourism and food and beverage sector since the 1990 crisis. So, are there any precautions to be taken against this? Capacity limitation by emphasizing quality, quality and brand is the first rational solution. Advanced countries in tourism have been implementing this in the last decade. One may ask why they do this. In fact, they use a sieve. The sieve attracts customers and thus increases their income and reduces waste . The win-win idea here has not yet reached us. However, from another perspective, if rational plans can be made, we can talk about a bed deficit in this new situation. In order to reach such a point, a new concept with a local texture specific to us is needed. In fact, this method was adopted after the pandemic and is seriously considered as an income increase in advanced countries today. We are still counting heads and consoling ourselves by saying 'we grew', 'we exploded'.
The fires that are happening nowadays but have become very critical and damaging in the last decade and olive trees are also included in the scope. Vineyards and wine are almost forgotten. What about hydroelectric power plants and mining exploration? I don't think any tourism professional understands this package today. In fact, how simple and plain is the image. However, the same issue that I brought up 15-16 years ago is still on the shelves untouched. These vital and critical items are being ignored for tourism, which is managed by irresponsible people and is called the main pillar of the economy. The tourism community has not lifted a finger to buy firefighting planes to extinguish the beautiful forests that are burning fiercely for the last 5 years. Forget about the beautiful mountains being riddled with holes to search for gold, they do not even mention the risk of cyanide. What about fertile lands? They are throwing away the chance to be the world's economic leader for the next 50 years by putting up concrete buildings.
Today, no sector that is not aware of technology and tin has a promising future. Technology has also been wrongly reduced to mobile phones and QR codes. But so much noise is being spread by those tin heads that it is almost impossible to talk about the truth. Everyone is in a dream world, but pirates who are intent on taking without giving are everywhere. They want to make people forget the simplest teaching, that the fruit can only be collected after putting the seed in the soil, protecting it meticulously and growing it. It is impossible to even compare the tourism professionals who do not speak out against the mentality that imports the world's garbage and makes money for their supporters and releases the remaining garbage into nature, with the minds that do not even let people chew gum, respect nature and earn the most money from protective tourism. How far can we go with this plundering mentality?
Say what?
