This Polish peak delights tourists. Not everyone knows how to behave here.

Sunrise over the sea and in the mountains is a beautiful sight. Unfortunately, in the pursuit of a beautiful photo, tourists often forget about safety rules. This video from the Pieniny Mountains proves this. It shows a crowd of people on Sokolica – a peak in the northeastern part of the Central Pieniny Mountains. It is located within the Pieniny National Park. From the top, there is a magnificent view of the Pieniny Dunajec River Gorge and the High Tatras. The site is also famous for a relict pine tree that has grown on a steeply sloping rock.

Tourists climbed a tree in the National Park

Photos from this location capture the irresponsible behavior of young people.

"Climbing trees and trampling on a pine tree in a National Park for a photo? This is the height of rudeness, stupidity, and disrespect!" wrote the author of the post on the tatry_official Instagram account. The post shows the tourists climbing another tree to take a photo from above.

Park authorities remind visitors that the purpose of this site is to protect nature. Regulations prohibit shortening paths, climbing rocks or meadows, or climbing over barriers. This has been a problem for years.

"By going beyond the barriers, the roots of relict pines are destroyed and rock plants, struggling to survive here, are trampled," explained the Pieniny National Park. "The ledges and rock walls on the peaks of Sokolica and Trzy Korony are covered with valuable rocky mountain grass. This community is endemic, meaning it occurs in this species composition only in the Pieniny Mountains," the statement explained.

"This is not a city park"

This isn't the first time tourists have violated the rules in Pieniny National Park. Last year, park authorities responded when visitors strayed from the trails and damaged vegetation. "We remind you that Pieniny National Park is not a city park. Regulations apply, requiring you to only use marked hiking trails," the Facebook post read. "Please respect the prohibitions," it added.
