More and more accommodation facilities in Poland are opening up to accepting guests with pets. Thanks to this, you can plan a holiday surrounded by nature and not worry about finding loved ones or friends who will take care of your pet during your absence.

"Every year more and more people want to travel with their pets. We have noticed that the tourism market has changed in this respect. Guests are happy to take their dog or cat on a trip," Catherine Martins, Investor Relations Director at the Sun&Snow Group, tells "Wprost".

It is up to the owner of the holiday apartment, and also in a given hotel, whether they agree to accept guests with animals. - We have to remember that individual apartments have their own owner. It may happen that the owner of a specific facility says "no". And as an operator we have to respect that - adds the group representative.

The most difficult situation in this respect is in cities, and specifically in business locations.

"Some owners in large cities do not want the possibility of renting with pets, while in typical tourist facilities there is an increasing openness to this. We have even noticed that during cooperation with us, some owners of accommodation facilities have changed their minds and agreed to accept guests with animals," adds our interviewee.

Among those skeptical about this facility, one fear predominates.

– First of all, allergies. Owners are afraid that despite thorough cleaning of the facilities in the high season, some hair will remain in some place. However, there are ways to prevent this on the market, e.g. ozonation of the rooms. At Sun & Snow, we have not had any incidents involving four-legged friends, e.g. with other guests or bites. However, we always remind that both owners and tourists must follow certain rules. Not everyone accepts dogs entering, for example, the catering area, and this is understandable,” explains Catherine Martins.

Peaceful places in Masuria. Forest paths to the lake

Tourists going on holiday with pets do not have to look only for beaches away from the crowds. - I would definitely recommend Warmia and Mazury , less mass tourism is also convenient for animals - says Catherine Martins. A good destination for a holiday would be Karwica, next to Ruciane-Nida.

- It's an amazing place! It's not without reason that Agnieszka Osiecka fell in love with it, I could also talk about Karwica for hours. It's the perfect destination to go on holiday with your four-legged friends and switch off from the daily rush surrounded by beautiful nature - literally at your fingertips, right outside your window - she encourages. - We can relax, for example, in the heart of the Piska Forest - we leave the accommodation facility almost straight into the forest, and paths among the trees lead to the lake. And what's most important for "dog lovers", many tourists come here with their pets - she says.

He also recommends a vacation in Kashubia, for example in Barkocin. – We will find there nice houses in the style of "slow" (unhurried) tourism and large, spacious places where you can come with the whole family or a group of friends. There will definitely be room for a pet, too – he encourages.
