Which Hotels Are Truly Green? Travalyst Launches Hub to Compare Sustainability

Travelers booking a hotel or short-term rental online may soon be able to see if their stay is powered by renewable energy, Travalyst told Skift’s GreenShift climate podcast.
The nonprofit coalition, founded by Prince Harry, launched the new sustainability data hub on Tuesday.
It will let hotels and short-term rentals share details such as renewable energy use, carbon footprints, and certification credentials.
The hub, which is free to use, gives the travel industry a single place to share sustainability information - data that booking platforms can then display directly to travelers.
It will roll out in two stages: first to Travalyst’s founding partners, including Booking.com, Expedia Group, and Google, and then next year to the broader travel sector. That means accommodation providers with listings on those platforms may soon be contacted to
skift.
