Premium Stellar Lounge on FinncanopusPremium Stellar Lounge on Finnlines’ M/S Finncanopus, located at the bow of the top deck, offers a restricted and airy space with panoramic views of the archipelago. The lounge features comfortable seating, a bar, and a selection of snacks and drinks from a self-service table. Business travellers can reserve meeting rooms with modern presentation and video conferencing equipment, while all guests benefit from faster Wi-Fi and secure luggage lockers. Finnsirius, Finncanopus’ sister ferry, also has a Premium Stellar Lounge.
During midsummer 2025, we had the opportunity to experience the Premium Stellar Lounge firsthand on our summer cruise on M/S Finncanopus. In this article, we share a snapshot review of the lounge, detailing its services and our personal experiences. Towards the end of the article, we compare the lounge with a typical airport lounge and provide our rating.
Our Premium Stellar Lounge ExperienceWe added lounge access to our Midsummer cruise booking. Thanks to Finnlines’ excellent summer offer, the price was only €10. At check-in in Naantali, we received lounge access cards together with our cabin keys. Since our trip was a round voyage, we booked the lounge only for the daytime return leg, as it would not have been open during the night crossing.
Additionally, we had previously visited the Premium Stellar Lounge on Finnsirius, and some of the photos in this article are from that visit. Since the lounges are very similar, it can be difficult to tell which lounge the photos are from. Both lounges follow the same concept in their offerings.
Locating Premium Stellar Lounge on the FerryFinding Premium Stellar Lounge on Finncanopus was straightforward. Our cabin was located on deck 9, while the lounge was at the bow on deck 12, the highest deck. The easiest route to the lounge was to walk forward to the bow and then take the lift up to deck 12, as it isn’t possible to cross the entire ship on deck 12. Since Finncanopus is a relatively small cruise ship, reaching the lounge is quick.
At the lounge entrance, we used self-service gates that allowed unlimited entry and exit with our ticket cards throughout the journey to Naantali. A helpful lounge staff member also gave us a temporary backup key, explaining that regular tickets sometimes fail at the gates. In our case, the opposite happened: the ticket cards worked flawlessly, while the backup key did not.
First ImpressionPremium Stellar Lounge felt stylish, spacious, and spotless, making it far more welcoming than many airport lounges. One reason for the good impression was that the ferry is still relatively new, and as a ferry, it offered much better views than a typical airport lounge. The overall first impression was very positive.
The lounge was divided into two sections, though there is no clear separation between them. The area immediately after the entrance gates felt calmer, with toilets, relaxed seating, and private work alcoves with power sockets. Further inside, the space includes a bar counter, a buffet table, and a dedicated business wing. Since there were not many customers, the whole lounge felt peaceful.

While the lounge had a comfortable atmosphere, its offerings were pretty basic in the summer. A staffed bar served both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a self-service table offered snacks.
Food and DrinksThe entrance fee included a glass of sparkling wine as well as unlimited coffee, tea, soft drinks, and water. All items on the snack-style buffet table come at an additional cost—even something as simple as chips, which felt a bit unusual compared to what airport lounges offer.
It is good to know that we visited the lounge using a discounted summer offer, so the complimentary selection was more limited than usual. At regular prices, the lounge includes a wider range of snacks and drinks.

Outside the summer season, the lounge offers a broader selection of complimentary snacks and drinks.
Other ServicesThe lounge offered a few extra services similar to those found in airport lounges, though they were quite basic. A reliable Wi-Fi connection was available throughout the lounge, which was a real advantage since internet access on ferries and cruise ships is often inconsistent. While Wi-Fi was also accessible in the ship’s public areas, the connection in the lounge felt noticeably faster and more stable.
The lounge had well-maintained restrooms, while smokers needed to step outside to use the ship’s designated smoking areas.
Travellers without cabins found the luggage lockers especially useful. Since many daytime passengers choose not to book a cabin, the lounge offered a comfortable place to rest and safely store belongings, making the Premium Star Lounge an ideal option. In addition, there was a small duty-free corner for those who wanted to shop without visiting the ship’s larger store.
For business travellers and groups, the lounge featured a conference area and two reservable paid meeting rooms. These spaces make the ferry an excellent option for team days, development sessions, or business meetings while on the move. Overall, the combination of practical amenities and business-friendly facilities made the lounge a versatile and comfortable environment.

Companies can enjoy excellent team days on Finncanopus: departing in the morning from Naantali and returning in the evening with Finnsirius.
RatingWe rate the Premium Stellar Lounge four stars. The facilities felt like an upgraded version of the conference centres on older ferries, suitable also for free-time passengers. The lounge's location on the ship offered excellent sea views, with large windows filling the space with light and creating an airy, relaxing atmosphere. The lounge’s seating areas struck a good balance between comfort and style, showing thoughtful design. The buffet and drinks selection presented the only real drawback, offering a more limited variety than we usually find in airport lounges.
Ideas How to Improve Premium Stellar LoungeThe Stellar Lounge could further enhance the guest experience by adding an outdoor area and a designated smoking room. Offering complimentary snacks year-round, including light refreshments in the summer, would make the lounge even more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. The lounge is still relatively unknown, so promotional offers could help raise awareness.
Access Price of Premium Stellar LoungeWe accessed the lounge via a summer offer, which cost €10 for the Kapellskär to Naantali journey, the return leg of our cruise.
The fee is charged separately for each leg of the cruise. For example, a daytime cruise the Åland Islands and back requires payment for both legs. Fortunately, shorter legs are available at a discounted rate.
The regular lounge price is relatively high, at €45 for the Naantali–Kapellskär route. At this rate, a more extensive selection of complimentary drinks is included. Occasional offers are also available outside the summer season. The lounge remains closed during nighttime hours.

Premium Stellar Lounge caters to business travellers seeking a quiet space to work or hold meetings, as well as to day travellers without a cabin. It provides a peaceful environment for relaxation, away from the busier areas of the ferry, and even passengers with cabins can enjoy the lounge’s calm atmosphere.
We found the lounge excellent, with its location at the top and front of the ferry being ideal. It felt more comfortable than many airport lounges we have visited.
