IHG CEO Looks to 2030: ‘Growth Is Moving East’

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) sees Asia as central to its future growth. CEO Elie Maalouf has spotted the numbers: three billion people, younger demographics, faster GDP growth.

"Most of the growth is moving east on a proportion basis,” he said at Skift Global Forum on Wednesday, pointing to a “basin of 3 billion people,” stretching across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and China.

“All of that conspires in a good way to turbocharge travel growth,” he said.
