Natural gas pipeline explosion in Hatay: 2 workers injured during intervention

In the evening, a natural gas pipe exploded after being struck by a piece of construction equipment during infrastructure work in an area where earthquake-prone housing was under construction. Natural gas repair teams responded to the scene upon receiving a report, but the leaked natural gas burst into flames. Two workers responding to the leak were injured by the flames, and the construction equipment was engulfed in flames.

2 WORKERS UNDER TREATMENT

Hatay Metropolitan Municipality firefighters quickly arrived at the scene of the flames and extinguished the blaze. The teams intervened in the natural gas line and brought the flames under control through the efforts of firefighters. Two workers injured in the fire were transported to the hospital after receiving treatment at the scene. The two injured workers are reportedly receiving treatment at the hospital, but the construction equipment sustained damage.
