The British singer's hit topped the Apple Music list of the 500 most-streamed songs of the decade. "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran, released in 2017, became a number one hit in thirty countries around the world, reaching platinum and multi-platinum status in most of them.

As Billboard describes it, the 34-year-old Sheeran's track "has been streamed more than any other song on the platform in the past 10 years, and broke Apple's record for the most streams on its first day of release." The hit, with which the Brit is forever associated, beat out the likes of The Weeknd's No. 2 "Blinding Lights" and Drake's No. 3 hit "God's Plan."

The top ten also includes hits like "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee and "Rockstar" by Malone and 21 Savage. The next places are occupied by "One Dance" by Drake, "Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott, "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran, "No Guidance" by Chris Brown and "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish.

As Billboard summarizes, Drake has the most, 27 songs in the ranking of the most listened to songs of the decade . Taylor Swift has launched 14 of the 500 hits on the list. Mariah Carey is the only artist to be included in the list with a Christmas song. The song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" came in at 100th place.
