Bad news for passengers. Pendolino trains are no longer scheduled on this route.

The September revision of the PKP Intercity timetable is approaching, bringing with it changes that may not be to the liking of passengers. Although the official media release won't be released until Thursday, differences are already visible in the carrier's timetable for next month. Passengers are most concerned about the transport offered on the Warsaw-Wrocław-Warsaw route. It turns out that Pendolino trains will disappear from the list of connections between the capital and Lower Silesia at the beginning of September.

We won't be able to travel from Wrocław to Warsaw by Pendolino

For years, travelers have complained about the length of the train journey between Wrocław and Warsaw. Most Intercity trains serving this section take over four, sometimes even almost five, hours to complete. Unfortunately, until now, passengers on this route could only use a single pair of high-speed Pendolino trains. The EIP train, departing Wrocław daily at 6:35 a.m., now reaches the capital in 3 hours and 34 minutes.

Starting in September, however, this train will disappear from the timetable, and information about the potential reasons has been circulating on rail enthusiast forums for several days. "All trains, except for a few express trains, will take almost 5 hours. The Pendolino will disappear, and there will be fewer connections. A tragedy, a terrible change. The IC Śnieżka now takes 4 hours and 16 minutes, and will now take 5 hours and 4 minutes," wrote a user on a Facebook group.

The reason is renovation

We contacted the carrier's press office regarding this matter, which informed us that the official announcement regarding all changes resulting from the September timetable will be published on Thursday, August 21.

According to internet users, however, the Pendolino will return to the timetable in early October, once the renovations on the Lubliniec-Opole section are completed. "The work aims to increase speeds to 130/140/160 km/h (speeds will vary depending on local conditions). Trains will run on a detour from Opole through Kędzierzyn Koźle," writes Miłosz Cichuta of the Railway Enthusiasts' Club in Wrocław.
