A crowd-free swimming spot, perfect for relaxing. It's easy to get there from Warsaw.

Not all reservoirs and swimming areas in Poland are equally well-known. Some still struggle to cope with excessive crowds. A problematic situation exists, for example, at Zakrzówek in Kraków , where long queues form. Admission is free, and the venue is modern, which only serves to whet your appetite. Zegrze in Mazovia is also often crowded. This time, we have the perfect option for a relaxing break near Warsaw.
A reservoir near WarsawWe're referring to the Karczunek Reservoir, located in the town of Kałuszyn in Mińsk County. It's situated on the Kałuszyn Upland, 35 km west of Siedlce and 50 km from Warsaw. In summer, this place attracts water enthusiasts, but it's still a peaceful place to relax.
It's a swimming spot surrounded by an elegant pier, but also a paradise for active outdoor activities. Local attractions include a sauna, a children's area, a fitness area, a relaxation area, beach volleyball courts, bars and gardens, as well as kayak rentals and a fishing zone. Interestingly, even in winter, you'll find something interesting there – a ski slope is available then.
The summer season lasts until September 10th, and admission to the reservoir is charged. After summer ends, visitors can visit the site for free.
Photos of Karczunek Reservoir are circulating on social media. They show a peaceful and green area. You'll find both a sandy beach and beautiful green lawns. There are plenty of places to swim, and you can also find other attractions nearby. Cultural events also take place in the area. For example, a concert titled "Kaleidoscope of Polish Colors" has been announced for August 29th, right by the reservoir.
People who visit this place rate it quite highly. Google reviews show that the reservoir has a 4.6-star rating. Tourists emphasize that you have to pay, but it's not much, and it's worth it. "The resort is well-organized, clean, and, in addition to the lifeguard, there's security. Thanks to the extensive grounds, even on a weekend and with a large crowd, you'll easily find a comfortable spot," we read.
Other comments also suggest it's beautiful and clean. "I recommend it for both the band and for meditation by the water and the magnificent view," "There's a sandy beach, lighted paths, umbrellas, benches, changing rooms, an amphitheater, playgrounds, an outdoor gym, a sauna, and restrooms," and "A very nice place on the map of Mazovia"—these are just some of the many opinions published online.
