Just like truffles and mushrooms, chestnut festivals are also part of the events program for autumn 2025, and there are numerous ones that populate the calendar of unmissable events. Here are the most anticipated ones that will make your heart skip a beat.
Valsusina Chestnut Festival (TO)Piedmont isn't just about truffle festivals . On October 18 and 19, 2025, Villar Focchiardo, in the Susa Valley, will host one of Piedmont's most historic and beloved festivals: the Valsusina Chestnut Festival. Here, the PGI chestnut is the true star, celebrated with the traditional brusatà, during which tons of chestnuts are roasted by master "brusatairo" (roasting masters). The festival is also a competition: the "Weight" competition rewards the most impressive chestnuts, while the prestigious Marrone d'Oro (Golden Brown) award recognizes the work of the finest chestnut growers.
Chestnut Fair in CuneoThe twenty-sixth edition of the National Chestnut Fair will take place in Cuneo from October 17 to 19, 2025. One of Piedmont's most beloved food and wine events, it offers tastings, an experiential fair, conferences, workshops, shows, and a rich program.
Chestnut Festival – Keschtnriggl in Lana (BZ)From October 19th to November 2nd, 2025 , the Lana area in South Tyrol will be decked out in autumn with Keschtnriggl, a festival celebrating chestnut culture.
