Toyota took its time before investing in the electric market, rightly believing it wasn't mature enough, but it has now decided to go for it. 2025 marks the start of a major offensive. In addition to the promise of the arrival of the Urban Cruiser and C-HR+ SUVs, the world leader will offer a derivative of the bZ4X, its first electric vehicle, which has just been revisited. Called the Touring, this variant resembles a leisure station wagon with its roof bars. Compared to the bZ4X, the silhouette is 140 mm longer to reach 4.83 m while the height peaks at 1.67 m, an increase of 20 mm. The main beneficiary: the trunk volume, which increases by 148 liters to reach 600 liters.

Two versions are available: a single 224 hp engine installed at the front or two engines with a power output of 380 hp, transforming the bZ4X Touring into four-wheel drive. In this case, this family estate car can go deep into the forest without disturbing the animals. Both versions are equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 74.7 kWh and, depending on the version, a 22 kW on-board charger. At a fast charging station, the charging power can reach 150 kW. In addition, the Japanese manufacturer emphasizes that the battery incorporates a new water cooling system as well as a preconditioning function, which the driver can activate manually or automatically via navigation to a fast charging station, in order to obtain an optimal battery temperature from the start of charging. This function is particularly useful in cold weather.

The redesigned interior benefits from the latest developments made to the bZ4X. The dashboard now houses a 14-inch multimedia screen, and the new center console features an inductive smartphone charging area. The interior trim features a new City Moss fabric color, in keeping with the model's authentic SUV character.

The bZ4X Touring will be launched in Europe in spring 2026.
