Paradise without breaking the bank: this sublime Spanish beach is the cheapest in Europe

While some beaches are the stuff of dreams, they can also be very detrimental to your wallet: €11 for an iced coffee on the legendary Pampelonne beach in Saint-Tropez, €60 for a deckchair rental on the Croisette in Cannes, €8.40 for a beer on the main beach in Biarritz... At this rate, you'll quickly blow your holiday budget. But which destination should you choose to sunbathe by the sea and treat yourself without emptying your savings account?
Omio's holiday experts combed through 75 popular beaches across Europe to compile a ranking of the best budget-friendly beaches for summer 2025. Water temperature, the price of an ice cream, a sun lounger, or a hotel room, user and AI reviews all helped determine the best spot for your next vacation. Spoiler: it's all in Spain!
Head to the Canaries, a handful of islands lost off the coast of Africa... It's in the north of Tenerife that this sandy gem, crowned "best beach in Europe in 2025," is hidden: the sublime Playa de las Teresitas . A 1,300-meter-long golden cove nestled at the foot of the Anaga massif – a treasure trove of biodiversity (and a hiker's paradise) where one of the last primary forests in Europe still remains.

Palm trees, golden sand, calm, clear waters... This picture-postcard setting hasn't always been as we know it today. Until the 1970s, Las Teresitas was covered in pebbles and black sand, like most of the beaches on this volcanic island. 270,000 tons of sand were imported from the Sahara to create this long golden ribbon, now beloved by vacationers and locals alike. At the same time, a system of dikes has transformed this rough coastline into a tranquil bay, ideal for swimming.

Here, there are no hotel complexes or concrete coastline: only the colorful houses of San Andrés, a former fishing village, dominate this little corner of paradise. A preserved but not elitist environment, since Las Teresitas has a huge free parking lot, with direct bus lines from Santa Cruz, the island's capital, a 20-minute ride away.
An ice cream cone in this dream setting will cost you an average of €2.50… And for an aperitif at a beach club, expect to pay €4.50 for a 33cl cerveza (beer) to sip with your feet in the sand. Who can beat that for value for money? So for those who want to ditch the cooler and folding chair this summer, you know where to go!
