Idron: between sport and conviviality, Nordic walkers enjoy spring at Lake Gabas

Nordic walkers from the Foyer rural d'Idron took advantage of a sunny day for a friendly hike to Lake Gabas.

At Nicole's initiative, members of the Nordic walking WhatsApp group at the Foyer rural d'Idron took advantage of the break during the spring holidays and the sparkling sunshine at the start of the week to organize a hike to Lake Gabas on Monday, April 28. After meeting at a parking lot near the town, the participants carpooled to the Lourenties community center before setting off around the lake.

At a brisk pace, led by Denis, the group crossed the municipalities of Eslourenties, Gardères, and Luquet, without forgetting to take a refreshment break in the quiet zone. After completing the 12 kilometers, poles and sneakers put away, some took advantage of the mild spring weather to extend this convivial moment with a picnic on site.

As soon as activities resume on Monday, May 5, members will find their weekly meeting led by Goulwen, sports instructor, starting from the multipurpose hall for a 9-kilometer outing.
