Feria de Dax 2025: Aaron Palacio, like a fighting cock

This novillero from a village in Aragon is at the paseo de la novillada this Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m.
"In life, you have to behave like a fighting rooster. The rooster symbolizes strength, power, aggressiveness, and the desire to prevail over your opponent." Aaron Palacio has made the gallinaceous bird his totem animal, as the novilleroo explained in an interview with Paula Ciorda for the Aragonese media outlet "Okdiario."
This choice would be the result of an encounter between his mentor, Miguel Cuartero, and a rooster, in the countryside of a village where the 20-year-old young man would later bullfight and triumph.
MantraHaving become a mantra for the duo every time Aaron Palacio prepares to do the paseo, "it's time for the rooster" proves to be of Swiss watchmaking precision.
Unhurriedly, the man who learned his trade at the Zaragoza bullfighting school has become one of the most prominent novilleros. A year of training preceded major performances in Madrid (one ear) and Seville (two ears) in the spring of 2025. His novillada at this Feria de Dax will be one of the last fought by Aaron Palacio before being crowned matador on September 20 in Nîmes.
This Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m., four novillos by Juan Manuel Criado for Aaon Palacio and Julio Norte.
