Bordeaux: South Africa can be enjoyed twice at the Cité du Vin

The Bordeaux wine tourism site is offering an after-work event dedicated to South African wines and jazz this Tuesday, June 17: swaying music for diverse grape varieties and terroirs
South African jazz, like South African wines, has its own unique characteristics: this is the meaning of the afterwork proposed this Tuesday, June 17 at the Cité du Vin , with Kei McGregor and Cyril Meidinger. The former is a figure of the Bordeaux music scene and the custodian of a style developed by his father, the pianist Chris McGregor. Born in Cape Town in the 1950s, this type of jazz fuses the contributions of Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins or Thelonious Monk with the rhythms of Zulu and Xhosa traditions. A swaying and warm music in which Kei McGregor has been immersed since his childhood, and which he will play in a trumpet-guitar-percussion trio.
The second is an experienced taster, an expert in South African wines and a wine producer himself. He will offer a guided tasting of four wines with very varied styles, reflecting the variety of terroirs, climates, and grape varieties (Muscat, Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, etc.) in this country, which is more than twice the size of France.
