The DGT will monitor alcohol and drug use among drivers in a new campaign from July 14 to 20.

Officers from the Civil Guard 's Traffic Unit will intensify their alcohol and drug testing of drivers on the road between July 14 and 20. This is a new campaign that will include checks carried out at any time of day and on any road, right in the middle of the summer holidays, when millions of trips are made.
In addition, volunteers from the National Federation of Spinal Cord Injuries (ASPAYM) will also participate in the campaign, reaching out to drivers who are required to take the test.
This will raise awareness about the consequences of driving after consuming alcohol or other drugs.
The DGT will present the campaign this Monday, together with ASPAYM, at a real-life inspection in the Madrid town of Pozuelo de Alarcón at around 11:00 a.m. Álvaro Gómez, director of the National Road Safety Observatory of the Directorate General of Traffic, will attend the event.
