Bogotá extends call for inclusive tourism initiatives and announces adoption day at Theatron

On July 5th, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm , a large interspecies adoption event will be held in Theatron's Plaza Rosa. During the event, attendees will be able to adopt 14 dogs and 6 cats, ready to receive the love of a family.

Please note that you will need to meet certain requirements during the event. Below is a list:
- Mandatory search upon entry.
- Parking available, subject to a charge. Space is limited.
- Adopters and staff are not allowed to bring in food or drinks.
- Entry is unique: whoever enters cannot leave and re-enter (applies to adopters).
- The entry of weapons or sharp objects is prohibited.
- Girls and boys are not allowed to enter.
The District Tourism Institute (IDT) announced the extension of the deadline for submitting proposals to the second edition of the "Bogotá is for Everyone" gala , an event that recognizes those who contribute to building a more diverse, safe, and inclusive city.

The new application deadline is Saturday, July 5, 2025 , and the awards ceremony will take place on July 10 at Theatron.
The call is aimed at individuals, organizations, groups, and media outlets that, through their daily work or within the framework of Pride Month, carry out actions that promote respect, inclusion, and visibility of all identities and expressions in the city.
“Inclusive tourism is not only an ethical commitment, it also strengthens the city's global reach and economic development. This gala is a tribute to those who make Bogotá a destination open to the world and a source of pride,” said Andrés Santamaría, Director of Tourism for Bogotá.
How to apply? Applications must be submitted using the form available on the official website visitbogota.co. Individuals, companies, media outlets, social organizations, communities, and groups are eligible to participate.
A fundamental requirement is the submission of a video of a maximum of 2 minutes in horizontal format, creatively or as a testimonial, that describes the experience , project, or initiative for which you are applying. This video can be recorded on a cell phone, as long as it has good audio.

The Bogotá is for Everyone gala has five categories:
- Local Pride Destination: neighborhoods or towns that promote diverse and safe tourism.
- Inclusive tourism service providers: hotels, agencies, restaurants, or spaces that offer inclusive experiences.
- Transformative narratives: content creators who bring diversity to life.
- LGBTIQ+ Tourism Ambassador: leaders who position Bogotá as an open and inclusive city.
- Media that inspires diversity: media or journalists that communicate with a transformative approach.
