After LH withdrawal: Flights Paderborn – Munich are secured

Lufthansa will no longer fly the Paderborn – Munich route this summer. But it will resume in September – thanks to an unusual initiative and a Danish airline.

At the end of last year, Lufthansa announced a significantly revised 2025 summer flight schedule , which, among other things, resulted in the loss of the popular Paderborn – Munich route. However, true to the saying "Where there's a will, there's a way," around 40 local entrepreneurs, under the aegis of the district administrator, refused to accept their fate of being left behind. Instead, they founded Skyhub Pad, a virtual airline, to maintain the flight route to the Bavarian capital, and began searching for an analogue airline.

The search is now over, and the contract is in place. The route will be operated by the owner-managed airline Danish Air Transport (DAT), which began as a cargo airline in the late 1980s and has also operated scheduled flights since 1996. DAT already connects Saarbrücken with Berlin and Hamburg.

DAT will now fly up to three times a day from Paderborn/Lippstadt to Munich on behalf of Skyhub PAD with an ATR 72. The original plan to take off in June has been postponed to September for organizational reasons.
