New cruise ship launching in August with world’s biggest water park on sea

An exciting new cruise ship will be launching this summer with a special feature on board. Going on a cruise is a unique opportunity which allows for a different experience compared to the usual holiday abroad. And now, Royal Caribbean is introducing a new element on board of one of its ships perfect for thrill seekers.
The world’s biggest water park on a ship will be available for holiday-goers in August on Royal Caribbean's The Star of the Seas. If you’re looking for an adventurous break, this ship could provide an exciting opportunity to embark on a thrilling journey.
Royal Caribbean says: “The new Star of the Seas brings all the biggest, boldest favorite landside thrills right on deck.
“Adrenaline seekers of all ages can get their fix — from the largest waterpark at sea to a gravity-defying obstacle course.”
The ship will be home to a "category six” waterpark with six record breaking slides. One of them has the tallest drop at sea and another has the first open freefall waterslide at sea.
Other slides, the Hurricane Hunter and Storm Surge, will have two new raft slides you can ride.
Another activity available on the ship for the brave-hearted is a sky-walk ropes course which allows daredevil visitors to take part in a climb above the ocean.
The ship is home to an impressive seven pools. You can take your pick to suit your mood, with some offering relaxing dips and others offering adults-only beach club-style experiences.
Alongside its water features and ropes course, there are also more relaxing experiences for travellers to enjoy.
On board, there is a 55-foot shapeshifting waterfall or you can watch superhuman stunts in a futuristic ice arena.
For entertainment, there’s lively sing-alongs from spirited piano players, sultry jazz ensembles, and electric rock bands.
