The incident, which took place on August 30, 2023, on Gaziosmanpaşa Street in the Merkez District, started when Metin Saldız and ultrAslan tribune leader İslam Gündüz, who had a long-standing feud, insulted each other on social media.

Allegedly, the argument that started on social media gradually heated up and Metin Saldız and his 8 companions raided the coffeehouse run by İslam Gündüz, one of the leaders of the Ulstraslan tribune, in 2 vehicles.

TWO PEOPLE PASSING BY LOST THEIR LIVES

Metin Saldız, Berkay Denizci, Yakup Yıldız and Ekrem Kuşak got out of the vehicle and ran and opened fire on the coffee house.

A conflict broke out when Aydın Aslan and Ahmet Gündüz, the brother of İslam Gündüz, who were working in the coffeehouse during the attack, responded.

During the clash, 59-year-old Servet Aytaş and Burak Kan, who were passing by, lost their lives and 4 people were injured.

5 PEOPLE ARRESTED

While the person was caught in the operations carried out immediately after the incident in which 2 people lost their lives and 4 people were injured, 5 people, including Metin Saldız, disappeared.

RED BULLETIN ISSUED

Saldız, for whom an international red notice has been issued, was caught at his home in Gagra City the day before yesterday in an operation conducted by the SGB Central Security Organization.

HE ENTERED GEORGIA ON WALK

According to Sabah, Saldız, who confessed to crossing the 213-kilometer-long İngur River on foot and entering Georgia immediately after the coffeehouse attack, was found to be involved in large-scale drug production and smuggling crimes in addition to the murder.

The Ministry of Justice has started work to extradite Saldız to Türkiye.
