Dilara S., who lives in Konya , got engaged to TK in June 2022 after stating that she had just graduated from medical school. At the betrothal's insistence, the girl's mother, Hacer S. , exchanged a large amount of jewelry and cash. Shortly after the engagement, TK learned that his fiancée had married in January and broke up with her. Meanwhile, Dilara S. cashed in the engagement jewelry and disappeared with 140,000 Turkish Lira.
He filed a criminal complaint
TK filed a criminal complaint alleging fraud. The Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit alleging that Dilara S. and her mother, Hacer S., were in cahoots and demanded a prison sentence of one to five years for fraud .
Although mother Hacer S. said that she did not know that her daughter was married at the time of her engagement, the prosecutor's office stated that this was not in line with the normal flow of life and that it was an attempt to escape the crime and concluded that they acted in unity of thought and action.
Dilara S. claimed that her marriage was a formality, that the person she married was actually in love with her brother, and that she did this because he threatened her.

According to witness testimony presented before the judge, Dilara allegedly claimed to be a doctor and would pursue a master's degree abroad and received €9,500 from TK's mother, N.K. TK and her family reportedly suffered a total loss of €20,000 in the scam.
According to Sabah newspaper, the mother and daughter, who failed to reimburse the damage, were sentenced to two years and six months in prison for "fraud," reduced for "good behavior," and fined 58,320 Turkish Lira. The court ordered the payment of this amount in 10 equal installments.
