Car accident in Safranbolu: 1 person killed
The accident took place in the Kireçkuyusu area of the Safranbolu - Karabük Highway. The car with the registration number 78 BN 242, driven by the driver whose name has not yet been learned, rear-ended the car with the registration number 14 ABM 801, driven by Muhammet Aygün, which was traveling in the same direction. The driver, Muhammet Aygün, and the passenger, Drissia E. (29), were injured in the car, which turned into scrap metal due to the impact. Upon notification, many police, health and fire teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured people trapped in the car were extricated after long efforts of the teams, while the relatives of the accident victims, who suffered a nervous breakdown, reacted to the teams. After first aid, the injured people were taken to Karabük Training and Research Hospital and a private hospital. Driver Aygün could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken. Police teams have started an operation to catch the driver of the car with the registration number 78 BN 242, who fled the scene after the accident.
An investigation into the accident, which caused a long queue of vehicles, is ongoing.
