40 couples got married in a mass wedding in Siirt

The ceremony, held at the Siirt Police Department service building, was a scene of vibrant spectacle. As part of the project, the newlyweds received wedding dresses, groom's suits, and various household appliances. Representatives from public institutions and organizations, police officers, guests, and relatives of the couples attended the ceremony. Following the wedding ceremony, the ceremony featured a traditional halay dance, and the participants and the newlyweds enjoyed an unforgettable day. Speaking at the ceremony, Siirt Governor Dr. Kemal Kızılkaya emphasized the importance of declaring 2025 the "Year of the Family," stating that strengthening the family structure, preserving family unity, and nurturing it with national and spiritual values should be a fundamental priority for everyone throughout this year. Kızılkaya said, "I have full confidence that this home, founded with hope and love, where we will share many beautiful things together, will raise individuals devoted to their homeland, nation, flag, and state. These signatures you have made today are not only a promise of marriage, but also of social unity, love, and loyalty. I wish our young couples a lifetime of happiness." Siirt Provincial Police Chief Necmettin Öztürk emphasized that family is the foundation of society, stating that they witnessed the establishment of families, the foundation of the nation, here. Öztürk noted that 80 young people voted "yes" today, laying the foundations of 40 homes. He said, "Our President's declaration of 2025 as the 'Year of the Family' is our greatest motivation for organizing this ceremony. Because we know that there can be no strong Turkey without a strong family. Every tent set up in the garden of the Siirt Police Department today is a tent of our unity, our brotherhood, and our shared future."
Selahattin and Rojin Demir, the newlyweds, shared their joy, saying, "We would like to thank everyone involved, especially our Siirt Police Chief, for organizing this meaningful ceremony. Thanks to them, we were able to get married. Everything was wonderful and meticulous throughout the ceremony. We had the most special time of our lives at the Siirt Police Department. We would like to thank our governor and police chief first and foremost. My best wishes to all single people."
