'Peace and security' meeting from the governors of 4 tourism cities

Following the disturbing images coming from some entertainment venues in the Marmaris district of Muğla , the governors of the four largest tourism provinces of Turkey ( Muğla , Antalya , Aydın and Balıkesir ) came together in Muğla with the participation of Deputy Minister of the Interior Münir Karaloğlu . The meeting discussed measures to be taken against behaviors that harm the tourism sector and disturb tourists, as well as measures to be taken against businesses.

Upon the instructions of the Ministry of Interior, Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat and Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu gathered in Muğla. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Interior Münir Karaloğlu , was also attended by the police chiefs, gendarmerie commanders and tourism directors of the four provinces.

The meeting, which was closed to the press, discussed obscene dance images spread on social media and other problems in tourist areas. The decisions taken at the meeting are expected to be announced to the public in a press statement by Deputy Minister Münir Karaloğlu.

The Ministry of Interior has taken action following the strange dance images that disturbed tourists in Marmaris and drew a huge backlash on social media. Deputy Minister of Interior Münir Karaloğlu met with the governors of Muğla , Antalya , Aydın and Balıkesir to evaluate the measures to be taken.

"We took the necessary precautions"

Making a statement on social media after the meeting, Münir Karaloğlu said, “We visited our Muğla Provincial Police Department and met with our police officers. In line with the instructions of our Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, we took the necessary measures for the peace and security of Muğla and other tourism provinces.”

14 businesses were closed

On the other hand, inspections were carried out regarding torchlight and naked dance shows organized in some entertainment venues in Marmaris. Security teams, acting upon the instructions of the district governor's office, detected various violations, including lack of documentation. As a result of the inspections, 14 businesses were given a closure penalty.
