Tourists are shocked. Mielno city center is more expensive than the Palm Tree in Dubai.

Tourists are shocked. Mielno city center is more expensive than the Palm Tree in Dubai.

A holiday by the Polish seaside doesn't guarantee either good weather or savings. According to an analysis of accommodation prices on Booking.com, two nights in the center of Mielno during the last weekend of August cost more than in the most prestigious locations in Dubai. Tourists, however, point out one detail that explains this shocking discrepancy. "This is because it's the middle of the season here, and it's the worst time for a holiday there," we read in a discussion on X.

This is how much you have to pay for a weekend in Mielno, and this is how much in Dubai

Weekend hotel prices in Mielno from August 29th to 31st exceed 1000 złoty for a double room. Booking.com is hard to find a property within walking distance of the beach that costs less than 500 złoty during this period. Meanwhile, in Dubai, renowned for its luxury, we can guarantee a top-shelf vacation at a lower price. We're not talking about the outlying districts of this metropolis, but about a prestigious location on Jumeirah, a man-made island shaped like a palm tree.

Today, for two nights at the four-star NH Collection Dubai The Palm hotel we will pay 734 PLN, and not long ago, as indicated by X users, for two nights in this place for two people at the end of August we would have paid only a little over 600 PLN.

The key is the weather

However, internet users are warning about the weather, which can be a shock for tourists traveling to Dubai this time of year. Temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius are common in the shade, and even at night, there's little respite from the heat. Summer in the United Arab Emirates is a low tourist season, during which many residents escape the cities and explore Europe – which is why we often see them in Poland, for example, during this period.

Meanwhile, the Polish seaside is theoretically the busiest time of year. However, the reality is different, as property owners report that the Baltic Sea has not had such a bad season in at least 30 years. However, there are still four weeks left until the end of the summer holidays – if the weather forecast for the last weekend of August predicts rain again, there's a chance prices will drop.
