Thailand issues urgent information on safety measures for visiting the country despite tensions with Cambodia

Over the past month, Thailand and Cambodia have been engaged in fierce military clashes on each other's territories, stemming from a historic conflict between the two countries. Due to this situation, many travelers are wondering: Is it safe to travel to any of these Southeast Asian destinations right now?
In response , the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) informed the world on July 28 about a series of measures in place in its territory, which seek to ensure tourist safety despite border conflicts and allow travelers to plan their visits taking into account official recommendations.
Popular destinations are not affectedAccording to Thai authorities, with the exception of the border areas with Cambodia, the country continues to operate completely normally. Likewise, domestic and international transportation services , including airplanes, buses, ferries, and trains, are operating as usual (excluding the suspended section in Sa Kaeo).

They also assure that their most popular destinations, such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, and Ayutthaya, continue to welcome tourists as they have not been affected by the border conflicts.
Caution when visiting border citiesThe Thai Tourism Authority (TAT) has advised travelers to temporarily avoid seven provinces along the Thai-Cambodian border: Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Buri Ram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat, due to ongoing security incidents.
At the same time they report that the affected areas include all border crossings in the aforementioned provinces, as well as nearby tourist attractions and national parks, so travelers are urged to revise their itineraries as needed.
Thailand's top tourism authorities urge visitors and residents of the affected areas to strictly comply with regulations established by military personnel and local authorities to avoid disasters.
For their part, they maintain that these measures will continue to be updated in response to the developing situation, and therefore recommend that travelers regularly check their official website for the most up-to-date information.
