Bologna's Civic Museums can be visited in a Queer way

Bologna's Civic Museums can be visited in a Queer way

Entering the Museum's halls Civic Medieval of Bologna starting from today, June 26th, can rediscover the works and objects on display through a queer perspective, thanks to the Queering Museum project, born from the collaboration between the Civic Museums Sector of Bologna and Attitudes_space for the arts aps. "The aim is to re-read the cultural heritage and the collections through a queer lens in a city, that of Bologna, which has always recognized the value of differences and the contribution these make to the construction of a meaningful society and community," he explained the councilor for culture of the municipality, Daniele Del Pozzo. Museums, therefore, are no longer just places of conservation, but also as places of discussion: Queering Museum, the first initiative in Italy that brings together all the realities of a system museum to work together on Lgbtqia+ issues, will do so through the use of podcasts. Six are planned, which can be listened to (at the moment the first one) on main free audio platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast) and on the websites of the Museo Civico Medievale and Chora Media, and the next five that will be available one by one week. All with the narration voice of the actor, author and LGBTQIA+ rights activist Pietro Turano. To accompany the enjoyment of the podcast within the At the Civic Medieval Museum a leaflet will be distributed containing a useful map for locating inside the rooms exhibition of the selected objects. In the QueeringBO podcast, reread the past talking about identity, gender and representation: through a journey from the Middle Ages to present, inside and outside the museum, each of the six episodes brings to light what often remains invisible.
