Charente: paddleboarding, canoeing, swimming... three waterside activities for your vacation

With its grassy beaches and stone diving boards, this green setting on the edge of an arm of the Charente River allows you to enjoy both the sun on the beach and the shade of the trees. The water sports center rents stand-up paddleboards by the hour. It offers several water routes, from 30 minutes to a full day, including a one-hour loop in the "Brass du Paradis." For longer trips, a minibus takes you to the boarding point in Guissale, Marsac, or Vars. Departures all day, by reservation, until 5:45 p.m., equipped with a route sheet and a waterproof container.

Vindelle Base.
The Ruffec canoeing and kayaking base offers several itineraries on the Charente, from Condac to Verteuil. The first is a two-hour trip that allows you to discover the Condac springs and the Lien, a tributary of the Charente. This cool route goes up to the islands located above the base, runs alongside the Moulin, Condac's restaurant, and allows you to observe the fauna and flora of the banks. For those who will push on to Barro (5.5 km) or Verteuil (9 or 15 km), transport is provided for the return trip.

The André-Mermet outdoor center is the ideal place for a day of activities with the little ones. It features a complete playground, a mini-golf course, a tennis court, a small swimming pool (supervised), picnic tables, and 5-seater pedal boats. Perfect for a short family outing to enjoy the charms of the Charente River. A map of the river and its surroundings is provided before boarding. Closed-toe shoes and a life jacket are mandatory.
