The spectacular palace where the series 'Valle Salvaje', which is a hit on RTVE, was filmed: stay overnight for less than 45 euros.

The afternoon series on RTVE's La 1 channel are some of the most successful fictions of the year, and both La promesa and its predecessor, Valle Salvaje , have captivated thousands of viewers in the public channel's afternoons. The latter is set in the 18th century in northern Spain, although the vast majority of its scenes were not filmed in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, or the Basque Country, but much closer to the heart of the country: specifically, in the province of Segovia.
Although the production team used several locations in Madrid to film sequences for the series, such as the Aranjuez Palace and the Finca de la Granjilla in El Escorial, the truth is that a large portion of the Valle Salvaje scenes were filmed in Segovia. In addition to using the magnificent Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso, the creators of the series also filmed episodes in a beautiful building steeped in history and where anyone can sleep: the Hoyuelos Palace.
Hoyuelos Palace: a 16th-century Renaissance gem
The palace is located in the village of Hoyuelos, part of the municipality of Santa María la Real de Nieva (and is therefore a short distance from the local monastery). This spectacular building was built in the early 16th century following the Renaissance style by order of the Arias Dávila family. For a long time, it was used as a recreational and leisure property, taking advantage of the imposing estate on which it is located and the stunning natural surroundings.
Today, the palace has been completely renovated and has become a dream accommodation. It consists of two separate houses (one per wing of the palace) with outdoor spaces that seem straight out of a fairy tale. Plus, with capacity for many people (up to 24), you can stay overnight in this hidden treasure in the Segovia countryside for just 45 euros per night .

In its spectacular 2,000-square-meter garden, you can relax in the greenery and cool off in the outdoor pool, making this treasure a haven of peace. Furthermore, the Hoyuelos Palace can also be booked for various events, from weddings to series shoots, as was the case with Valle Salvaje .
However, the afternoon series on RTVE's La 1 channel was not the first production to use the building as a setting, as one of the most important films in the history of Spanish cinema, The Spirit of the Beehive (1973) by Víctor Erice, also used this impressive Segovia palace.
How to get to Hoyuelos PalaceThe village of Hoyuelos is located just 40 kilometers from the city of Segovia. To get there from the Castilian-Leonese city, simply take the CL-607 and connect with the CL-605 until you reach the village of Santa María Real de Nieva, where you should take the SG-V-3222 and SG-V-3213, which lead to the town center.
