The Parador in one of the most beautiful white villages in Cádiz: stunning views from a cliff

The beautiful town of Arcos de la Frontera is not only one of the most beautiful in Cádiz (one could even say in all of Spain), but it's also the perfect gateway to discovering the other white villages in the province of Cádiz . Traces of ancient civilizations , from prehistoric settlers to Romans, are visible at the Sierra de Aznar site, but it was the Muslims who left the greatest mark on the town.

Its old town , declared a Historic Site, reveals one wonder after another in its maze of streets. Visits to the Castle of the Dukes , the Matrera Gate, the Basilica of Santa María, and the Church of San Pedro are a must. And if you're looking for accommodations on par with the town itself, a good option is the Parador.

The Parador of Arcos de la Frontera

The Parador de Arcos de la Frontera overlooks the edge of a cliff overlooking the Guadalete River . From this location, you'll have privileged views of miles and miles of cultivated fields with a trail of gentle, vegetation-covered mountains as a backdrop.

Looking to one side, we can see the town lingering on the edge of the cliff , its white houses defying gravity. Inland, the Parador borders the Plaza del Cabildo and the Convent of the Mercedarians , founded in 1642.

Classic style and local cuisine

This four-star hotel was built shortly after Arcos de la Frontera was declared a Monumental Site of Historic-Artistic Interest in 1962. From the outside, it's striking with its design, which blends seamlessly with the local architecture. The three-story façade stands out for its neoclassical composition and leads into a small entrance hall.

Once inside, we find the traditional Andalusian patio , full of color, plants, columns, tiles, and a quiet terrace where we can sit and enjoy a drink. The rooms feature a classic style , with traditional furnishings and decorations. Don't forget the restaurant serving regional Andalusian cuisine , with dishes such as chard stew, garlic and molineros, honeyed eggplant, roasted kid, oxtail, and ice cream.
